In 2014, I lost my dad to Alzheimer’s and had to immediately find a facility for my mom. It was very clear that her money would not last long. I knew she should qualify for the VA widow’s pension- but it was a long, complicated process filled with the usual governmental bureaucracy and contradicting statements. A friend mentioned Steve’s name and I was at his office immediately, expecting more complications than hope and with a dark cloud of failure hanging over me every single day.

Over the next 2 years, Steve carefully guided me through the process. I was exhausted from my dad’s death and overwhelmed with my mother’s needs. But Steve gave me confidence that we could do this together. He was patient, understanding, detailed, and always available when I had questions. He had all the answers and I always knew what to expect next. More importantly, he was understanding and compassionate.

My mom is now in the later stages of Alzheimer’s and I lose a bit of her each day. If it was not for Steve’s knowledge and doggedness, my mom would not have been able to remain in this facility. There are few agencies of this kind and I will always be grateful for finding this organization and for Steve’s competency and kindness
